Community Foundations Boot Camp 2022

The ICoF has once again teamed up with the Indiana Philanthropy Alliance to offer all Iowa community foundation employees, staff, board members, and affiliate advisory committee members the opportunity to attend "Community Foundation Boot Camp" at a significantly subsidized rate.

This virtual training program is designed to provide participants with an overview of the structure and operations of a community foundation.  Community foundations are unique and complex organizations and IPA, thanks to the support of Lilly Endowment Inc., has been able to develop this highly-regarded curriculum which covers:

• History, purpose
• Board governance
• Gifts and funds
• Asset development
• Grantmaking
• Community leadership
• Finance and investments
• Legal Issues
• Operational sustainability
• Lifecycles of community foundations

IPA has provided this training for over one thousand community foundation staff and board members over the past years in partnership with the United Philanthropy Forum, Southeast Council of Foundations, Iowa Council of Foundations, League of California Community Foundations, Philanthropy Colorado, North Carolina Network of Grantmakers and the Florida Philanthropic Network.

The program is offered in six sessions scheduled over two weeks. The cost for Iowa community foundations will be $100 per person. Registration costs for Iowa community foundations are being subsidized through the Iowa Community Foundations Initiative.
